US WW2 Section Two
This beautiful sterling wing came directly from the daughter of Ray Neuberg, a career Air Force officer who passed away at the age of 93 in Butte, Montana. They are very similar and every bit as beautiful as a Blackington wing with finely detailed feathers, but are marked only "sterling". When I purchased these items from his daughter she said her father was very proud of the wings because he was wearing them when he was shot down over Germany during WW2. She claimed they were taken from him when he was captured, but returned personally by the Kammandant of his prison camp. So how do you prove a story like that? Examining the 2 photos I obtained, one taken during the war and one later in his career, he is wearing these wings. So he was obviously proud of them. I managed to dig up a little research which showed Neuberg was a B-17 pilot assigned to the 351st Bomb Group and had indeed been shot down during a mission over Germany in 1944. I was fortunate to locate the entire accident file for his mission which includes a written report from every crew member who survived the mission and captivity, incuding Ray Neuberg, and those reports provide the heart pounding details of the final moments of their doomed B-17 after being hit by fighters and flak. Doubt you'll ever find a wing with a better story and better research. Not bad circumstantial evidence to back up his daughter's story either. This little group includes Neuberg's wing, collar props, British made 1st Lt. bars, OS cap with captain bar, DFC ribbon bar, 2 photos and all research material.

A really excellent example. Complete with all buckles and straps. The only flaw I can see are a couple rusty snaphooks, but they still work. I got this one from the estate of Mr. Junior S. Dent, who served with the 163rd Infantry Regiment, 41st (Jungleers) Division. A beauty!

A pretty nice can. This one has it's original OD paint, and although it has some scattered, minor rust spots, it doesn't appear to have been reused as it does not have the later yellow stencils. Complete condition.

A real beauty. RH-37 Pal marked blade has most of the bluing worn away but remains in very nice condition. Not overly sharpened. Has the red spacer handle and round pin. Like most of these the pommel is loose, which is why the pin was changed. Has its original leather scabbard in excellent condition. Great early example.

3 1/8" pinback wing. Very thick quality strike marked with the Meyer shield. Looks to be an observer wing with the navigator glove applied over it which was a common feature since the observer wings saw limited use.

Used in both fighters and bombers. Has glow in the dark hands and is marked 8 Days AN5743-T1A. Works perfectly.
