US WW2 Section One
This group came directly from the estate of the female veteran, Marthelin (Kinkaid) Yeager of Chouteau, Montana. She served as a staff sergeant with the 9th Service Command at Fort Harrison, Montana. Interestingly, Fort Harrison was where the elite First Special Service Force trained. The group consists of her jacket with all insignia, skirt, khaki shirt with staff sergeant chevrons and chamois scarf. 1943 dated QM tag in the jacket pocket. As is often the case, her uniform is stamped with a number of names and service numbers, but all components came from her estate and is just as she wore it home after the war. Nice opportunity to own an identified WAC uniform. I will include a copy of her obituary.

The female Ike jacket was adapted in 1944 to provide a lightweight field uniform for the Women's Army Corps. This set has the jacket with collar insignia and skirt. The jacket is stamped with the WAC's name and serial number. Her first name was Irene and the last name is a little hard to read but looks to be "Issuan" or "Issuen", but I could be wrong. Both items show wear but are still in very good to excellent condition.

Here's a cool piece! Large 42" diameter, heavy 8 lbs, leather medicine ball marked "Special Services, U.S. Army". Tossing the medicine ball was a popular form of exercise in the old days, particularly in Army training camps. This one is in very good condition except for a scorch mark which I would almost bet came from setting it on a hot steam heat radiator years ago. I've never seen another one. I'll Probably ship this one by parcel post.

54" x 35" Medical Aid marker flag used to identify aid tents and buildings to protect them from air attack. This one is made of cotton with a silk type red cross applied to one side only. There are hemmed slots on each side for poles to fit through. Great for your medical display.

This card was originally sent by US Army private Bob Paradise to Father Flanagan at Boys Town, Neb. Where the original card is today, I have no idea, but Boys Town had copies of the original card printed up during the war for distribution. This is one of those copies, not the original. I'm not sure how many were printed, but I don't see many around.

About as nice as they come. In original box with instructions. The box has split corners, but the lighter appears never to have been touched.

A beautiful helmet set that came with the officer's named garrison cap. The helmet is late WW2 production with hinged chinstrap loops with a rear seam. Retains its original cork finish. The shell is stamped 1284D which I believe puts the production right at the end of WW2. The 1st Armored Division was inactivated in the late 40s so it is possible this helmet was worn during this period or when the division was brought back during the Korean War. The Captain bars are neatly attached to the shell and the liner also has captain's bars along with the 1st Armored decal. The liner is Westinghouse marked. The set shows honest aging and no doubt has been together since the beginning. The leather liner chinstrap is a replacement. A really gorgeous helmet that speaks for itsself.

Can't remember the last time I've seen one of these Red Cross issued medic IDs for sale. This one is in very good, filled out condition. The soldier's photo either fell out or was removed by the family. Get it while you can.

This is one of the nicest examples I've found and is identified to a major W. A. Nelson. The condition is excellent and appears almost unused. It is complete with all the smooth black buttons and rope peg loops. The ink maker mark is a little faded as is the date, but the maker is the "Colorado Tent & Awning Co." The date is very hard to make out but is probably early 40s. The U.S. is very bold, and has an additional small S under it, the meaning of which I have no idea, but it's an interesting variation. It would be very hard to upgrade this piece.

Another great footlocker item. Sealed box of tobacco in the wartime cardboard. This one has a series 113 tax stamp which dates it to 1943. Excellent condition. The cellophane is no longer present, but the box is still sealed and unopened.
